Headteacher, Fiona Pearce:

“It’s fantastic. We have done an excellent job; we’ve worked hard this year, and we’re taking the trophy home.

“We have done a lot of work this year on running; we do a daily mile, and we have a running club, and they have been training hard.

“The pupils have also been working together as a team and have all played a part in that.”

Year 5's Violet said:

“It’s great to have won, especially after missing out last year when we came second. We got our hopes up this year after that, and now we’ve done it.

“I think next year we will continue with what we’re doing, try our best and see what happens.”

Tippi , also from year 5, added:

“We are all very proud of ourselves to have won.

“We have been practising each day with a daily mile, so we have to do a mile, and at the moment in school we are doing a marathon, so as long as you can do it, you will get a medal.”
