World Book Day - PJ Day

7th March 2024
Dear Parents/Carers

World Book Day – PJ Day – Thursday, 7th March

World Book Day takes place on Thursday 7th March, and we hope you'll join us to celebrate across the school. We are celebrating World Book Day again this year to support the charity's mission to change lives through a love of books and reading.

Dressing up or bringing books into school can be a big part of World Book Day. This year we are aware the cost-of-living crisis might make this difficult for families, so we are doing things a bit differently!

Instead of coming into school in costume, we are inviting children to wear their pyjamas.

We would love to include parents in our celebrations by inviting you to come into class to:

  1. Read with your child in the morning until 9.30am.

  2. Send your child's favourite bedtime book or a picture of the book explaining why this is their favourite book so the children we can share these with their friends.

Access to books

Each child will be handed a £1 World Book Day token. This will enable them to get a free £1 book - simply take your £1 book token to your nearest bookseller and swap it for World Book Day £1 book OR use it to get £1 off ANY book or audiobook costing £2.99 or more. You can find your nearest bookseller at worldbookday.com/participating-retailers.

Check out the World Book Day Family Hub for more things to do at home.

We are very much looking forward to celebrating World Book Day, which could not happen without the support of parents and carers - thank you.
