Dear Parents and Carers,
Weather Arrangements
Following our previous communication regarding the extreme heat forecast for Wednesday, we are writing to provide a further update.
The latest forecasts indicate that both Wednesday and Thursday have now been classified as Red Zone days, with temperatures expected to reach levels that present a heightened risk to health and wellbeing. Such conditions increase the likelihood of heat-related illness, particularly for children, staff, and those who may be more vulnerable.
While government guidance encourages schools to remain open wherever possible, it also recognises the need to make adjustments during periods of extreme heat, including changes to the school day.
After careful consideration of the forecast and the likely conditions within classrooms during the hottest part of the afternoon, we have decided to extend our earlier arrangements. School will now finish at 1:15pm on both Wednesday and Thursday.
We appreciate that an early finish may cause inconvenience for some families. However, the safety and wellbeing of our children and staff remains our highest priority.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
Kind regards,
Mrs Pearce
Headteacher
