Dear Parents and Carers

Extreme Weather Arrangements this week

Following the latest weather forecasts and guidance, we have reviewed our arrangements and put the following measures in place for the next few days.

Wednesday, 24th June (only) - we will be adjusting our finish time to 1.15pm in line with Park School.

Our Nursery provision will operate a morning session only on Wednesday 24th June, nursery children booked in for the whole day will need to be collected at 1.15pm.

Tuesday and Thursday

Whilst there are Amber weather warnings in place on these days, if any parents are concerned about their child being in school during this period of extreme heat we will authorise the absence, please ensure you contact the school office to confirm this.

We will continue to take appropriate precautions to keep children comfortable and safe, including encouraging regular drinks, reducing physical activity and making use of shaded and cooler areas where possible.

Please ensure that your child arrives at school each day with:

  • Sun cream applied before school
  • A named sun hat
  • A named refillable water bottle

We appreciate that this change may cause some inconvenience, but we hope you will understand and support this precautionary measure. Given the level of heat currently being forecast, we believe it is sensible and responsible to act in advance rather than wait until conditions become difficult within the school environment. We will continue to monitor the weather forecast closely and will communicate any further updates if necessary.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

Kind regards.
