Years 5 and 6 - Group 2 - Wild Night Out

26th September 2019
Wild Night Out 2019

Group 1 - Wednesday, 25th to Thursday, 26th September

Group 2 - Thursday, 26th to Friday, 27th September

Each year we organise a ‘Wild Night Out’, which is open to all Year 5 and 6 children.  This is an opportunity to experience camping overnight at the North Devon District Scouting Campsite, Collard Bridge, Snapper.  Whilst at the camp the children will take part in various outdoor activities, aimed at enhancing their self-esteem, independence and team building skills.  We are sure you will agree this is a brilliant way for friendships to develop at the beginning of a new school year.  All of the activities will take place on site and outdoors.  We will take two groups on consecutive nights the children will sleep overnight in tents, provided by the school.

Parents of children joining Year 6 please note during this week Park School has an open evening is 20th Sept and Pilton Community College open mornings are 19th, 20th and 21st so you might like to bear this in mind and advise us if you have a preference for Wednesday or Thursday.

Once we have received all reply slips the team will split the children into two groups, 19th to 20th September or 20th to 21st September and will then send a confirmatory letter home.

Parents or your nominated adult will need to bring your child and their luggage to the campsite for 9.30am on the first morning, where a member of staff will meet and register them.  They will take part in activities during that day, sleep overnight and have breakfast the following morning.

Parents or your nominated adult, will need to collect the children from the campsite at 9am on the morning after their camp out.    We do not expect the children to return to school that day as they will be tired and need to rest at home.

The children will need to bring a packed lunch and drink with them.  If your child is entitled to Free School Meals and you would like the kitchen to provide a packed lunch for them please mark this on the form attached below.  Children will be given dinner and breakfast at Snapper.

Medication – If your child is likely to require ANY medication during this activity please ensure you complete a Green Medical Administration Form (which you can obtain from the School Office) and return this to Mrs Butler by Monday, 17th September.
