Years 3 and 4

Monday

We arrived at the zoo in time for lunch in the restaurant.

During the afternoon we learnt all about endangered species and conservation.

After a very wet evening trip to the zoo, we were looking forward to our hot drinks and a story before bed.

Tuesday

We woke up to another wet morning but that didn’t dampen our day.

After a super breakfast at the hotel we set off for the zoo to do some pond dipping and animal classification.

The tigers seemed hungry and were very interested in our children.  We visited the giraffes after lunch. We also visited Duchess the elephant. Mrs Johnson did a project on Duchess and another elephant 28 years ago on her year 4 residential!

We saw a fantastic bird show in the afternoon put on by @dbopc. How amazing to see these beautiful birds of prey up close. The children loved the birds swooping over their heads

After dinner in the evening we all walked down to Goodrington Sands for fun and games on the beach.

At the end of the day the children were a little!  Almost all were asleep within minutes of being in bed! A fab (and much drier) second day completed!

Wednesday

After another restful night we all set off for the Living Coast.

We were all smiling because the sun is peeking through the clouds!

Feeding the penguins, seals and otters this morning!

Most of the children held fish in their hands to feed Inca Terns!

In the afternoon we were learning about plastics in the ocean. Did you know that scientists think plastics take around 450 years to break down?

The children were investigating the types of plastic that have been collected from the oceans and sorted lots of plastics.
