Our Nursery

Our nursery provision accommodates up to 52 children from the ages of 3 to 4 years throughout the schools term time.

Each child is entitled to 15 hours state funded education per week and we offer to be as flexible as possible to enable children to take these 15 hours as either part day or whole day sessions.

We also offer extra hours which are charged at £4.00 per hour (as of September 2017) and invoiced on a monthly basis.

Our  Early Years Practitioners will work with your child and plan activities to help them in all areas of social, emotional, cognitive, language and physical development.

We understand that each child learns at their own pace and we will carry out observations to improve and target different areas of their development so that we nurture them and help them to flourish.

We open from 8:30am to 3:30pm and run up to three sessions a day.

Session 1 - 8.30am -11.30am
Session 2 (lunch) - 11.30am - 12.30pm
Session 3 - 12.30pm - 3.30pm

We ask that children who join our nursery do a minimum of 3 hours per session to a maximum of 7 hours per day.

Our unit includes a playroom, outdoor garden area, toilets and kitchen.

Orchard Vale Nursery will be offering 30 hours funding for those children eligible from September 2017.
In order to check eligibility please go to www.childcarechoices.gov.uk
Once you have done this and have your 11 digit eligibility code (starting with 5000) please download and complete the form below and return to the school office.
If you wish to apply for a place at Nursery, please contact the school office for an application form or download one below.

Once this is filled out return to the office with a copy of the birth certificate.

Our nursery co-ordinator, Mrs Stacey, will then contact you the term before your child is due to start to speak to you about organising a home visit, open mornings and allocating your hours.

Once your child has started Nursery we do ask that if you wish to make any changes to their hours, unless it is special circumstances, that these be done the start of the next term due to staffing arrangements.

If your child has a place in our Nursery this does not automatically give them a place in our Reception class. You will need to apply through Admissions Online for a school place. You can check when you will need to apply for a school place on the Admissions website. If you need any help please contact Heidi Stacey.
