Mr Quilter's and Mrs Grimwood's/Mrs Huggins' Year 2 visit to Barnstaple

Mr Quilter’s and Mrs Grimwood’s  Year 2’s visit to Barnstaple

Tuesday, 10th March

The Year 2 children had a great time on Tuesday learning more about our historical town.  Everyone walked brilliantly into town and we were very lucky with the weather.

Thanks to the Heritage and Cultural Department of  Barnstaple Town    Council our Bertie the Beagle trail helped us find out some important information about twin towns.  During our tour of the Guildhall we saw    Barnstaple’s treasures in the Dodderidge room.

Our guided tour of Barnstaple was a little windy and took us around Castle Mound, the Bridge, the Old School House and our four faced Liar (perhaps the children can explain what this is).

We learned so much about the historic town we live in.

It was great!

We finished the day off with a visit to a slightly damp Rock Park.

Thank you to the Friends of Orchard Vale for helping to cover the cost of this trip.
