Forest School Development at Orchard Vale

24th March 2017

We are so pleased to be able to inform you that our Forest School Development is now taking place and would like to thank you all for your continued support in raising funds for this project.

The foundations for the log cabin outdoor learning classroom are underway.  We have in place 2 of the 6 raised beds, which Miss Felgate and her gardening club have already planted in.  Mr Quilter’s class will be taking on the development of the next raised bed.

The funding for this project is still ongoing and if anyone knows of anybody who would like to help with this in any way please contact Sue Manley our Community Project Lead.

We are planning a Grand Community Open Day on Saturday 8th July themed around WW2,  where the children and community will be able to enjoy workshops such as code breaking, making a gas mask, cooking and tasting some WW2 outdoor recipes to name a few.  We are also planning on having our very own Anderson Shelter, which will enrich the childrens learning when studying WW2.

If you would be interested in coming in to work on the development and help Miss Felgate and Mr Magson, please let us know.
