World Book Day 2018

Rescheduled World Book Day
 
Due to the snowy weather on Thursday, 1st March we have decided to hold another World Book Day on Thursday, 8th March.

To celebrate World Book Day at Orchard Vale, if the children would like to, they can come to school dressed as their favourite book character and bring their book with them to share with the class.
 
Children do not need to bring in any monetary contributions. 
 
The day is to celebrate books and sharing the enjoyment we get from reading them with others. 
 
Nursery
 
Come dressed as your favourite book character and bring the book into school to share with your friends.
 
Reception
 
Come dressed as your favourite Julia Donaldson character.
 
Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 -
 
Come dressed as your favourite book character and bring the book in to share with your class.
 
 
During the day we will plan some activities to encourage the children to read for pleasure.

Children cam to school as their favourite book character and took part in numerous fun activities.
 
EXTREME READING CHALLENGE
 
Children entered a competition to read books in unusual places.
 
Winners of the most unusual place won £5 book vouchers to spend at the Scholastics Book Fair.
